About Haida Gwaii...
The Queen Charlotte Islands called Haida Gwaii by the Haida, is often referred to as the 'Canadian Galapagos.' It is a spectacular marine and mountain wilderness with an extraordinary natural heritage. The area teems with wildlife; thousands of resident seabirds, eagles, seals, sea lions, and for the fortunate; dolphins and whales. Towering original forests carpeted in moss contrast with the miniature bonsai bogs of the San Cristoval Range. The rich cultural history of the Haida is evidenced by abandoned villages with their collections of superbly carved totem poles and remnants of the huge Longhouses. Truly a cornucopia of experiences for the adventurous traveler.
About A Queen Charlotte Adventure Tour...
We travel by land in vans and on the water in covered power boats and by kayak. Our groups are small and range in size from 6 to 10. We travel by boat during the day and camp ashore at night and on our kayak tours we do it the old-fashioned camp ashore and glory in the scenery way.. All tours have a high educational component. We focus on advancing our guests practical skills as well as their knowledge of natural and cultural history. Our tours are inclusive and, except where indicated, all necessary equipment, food, on-island transportation and trained guides are included. We are licensed to operate in the Gwaii Haanas National Park/Reserve and are part of the Haida Gwaii tour operators group and are committed to protecting the wilderness and heritage values of these islands.
