Rates, Reservations, and Travel

In order to get the most out of your Haida Gwaii holiday, we recommend that you plan your visit around a full calendar week, especially in the Summer when there is much to see & do.

For example, if you arrive on a Sunday, then fish a full five days from Monday to Friday, coming from and returning to almost anywhere in North America or Europe can be accomplished without difficulty on the weekend before & after you visit. This schedule allows for a completely satisfactory holiday that includes two or three days of saltwater angling, the same for fishing the freshwater lakes & streams, and another day to tour around seeing the sights. When you stay for a week, we do not charge for the part days of your arrival & departure. To secure your reservation at Kingfisher Cove Lodge, a 50% deposit is required, with the balance due 30 days before your arrival date.

Daily jet service between Vancouver and Sandspit is provided by Air Canada Jazz and Hawke Air. Both are safe & reliable carriers. The flight each way takes approximately 2 hours, and provides a very scenic overview of the southern Queen Charlotte Islands, coming & going. Your travel agent can usually make your reservations so that your journey to & from your home city can be accomplished in one day, or with a day or two to stop over in Vancouver if you wish.

Helicopter flights to the more remote mountain trout lakes or westcoast Haida village sites can be booked with the Vancouver Island Helicopters Company that operatres out of Sandspit Airport. South Moresby Air features fixed wing aircraft (Cessna & Beaver) flying out of Queen Charlotte City, and will take you to all points north & south with an experienced and knowledgeable pilot. Both services are available for an additional charge, and we can make arrangements for you.
