Fishing with Kingfisher Cove

Bringing Home Your Catch

Once you've successfully landed your quota of primo wild chinook & coho salmon, you'll want them preserved in a form that maximizes their exceptional eating quality. At Kingfisher Cove Lodge, we take better care of your catch than any other QCI lodge is either able or willing to. After a quick photo or two of the fish you've just landed (at its shiniest), it will be thoroughly bled, cleaned & packed in crushed ice.

Then at the end of the fishing day we stop off at the Codfather Fish Processing Plant in Queen Charlotte City. There your catch will be offloaded at the dock, then consigned to the care of professionals. Their job is to custom cut your salmon to your specifications (i.e.steaks, chunks, or whole filets), then vacuum pack each piece before flash freezing it. After carefully labelling your individual fish, the Codfather Crew will pack them into insulated styrafoam and cardboard containers, then store them in large walk in freezers.

When the time comes for you to fly from the Sandspit Airport, your fish will be waiting for you at the check-in desk, all boxed, sealed, and labelled, ready to travel with you. When you arrive at your home, you simply transfer the perfectly preserved salmon into your freezer, and you will have a supply of top quality frozen filets that will provide you, your family and friends with a wealth of excellent meals well into the next year. There is a very reasonable per pound charge for this service, and well worth it when one considers that these salmon are unsurpassed anywhere for taste and nutritional value.
