Cozy & Comfortable Accommodation

Kingfisher Cove Lodge is comprised of three uniquely handsome habitations set in a beautiful wooded 12 acre estate along the shoreline of Shingle Bay. The main dwelling is a two storey cedar structure finished inside and out with Western Red cedar, with a rustic shake roof. The home of Mark & Arceli Walsh & Family, the interior has a warm & cozy atmosphere, enhanced by a classic Vermont Castings 'Defiant' wood-fired parlour heater. Our guests enjoy taking their morning & evening meals in the comfortable kitchen with its massive spruce burle table and antique Elmira Oval cookstove. Every window of this unique structure enjoys an excellent view of either the Pacific Ocean or the surrounding old growth forest. The lovely Agnes Creek bends around house, then onto the beach. Eagles perch at the top of the tall spruce tree in the front yard, and the distinctive call of these magnificent birds can be heard throughout the day. And the gentle lapping of the waves along the sand beach lulls one to sleep at night.

A hundred metres distant from the main lodge are the two guest cottages. Facing eastward across Shingle Bay towards the Spit, each has its own panoramic view of both ocean & forest. A stand of alder trees separates them, with a winding pathway between. Each has its own walkway to the main lodge, as well as individual driveway access to the beach road. Built with locally milled red cedar inside & out, these custom designed dwellings feature all of the modern amenities, including a bathroom complete with toilet, vanity, bath & shower, a large bedroom, a fully functional kitchen, and a living room with a large picture window . A spacious patio deck on the ocean side of each also affords an exceptional view and seaside serenity. Each cottage is 480 square feet of living space on one level (plus the same in basement storage underneant), and the only difference between the two is that the colour of the metal roof and exterior window trim on the one is green, while the other is brown. The hydro & phone lines are buried so as to enhance their aesthetic appeal, and electric heat and overhead fans keeps their interior very fresh & cozy. For our Kingfisher Cove Lodge guests, these cottages provide private, peaceful living & sleeping quarters.
