MEDICAL FARES  

To be eligible for the medical fare the passenger MUST PRE-REGISTER transportation and will be asked to provide the following information:  full name, address, telephone number, birthdate, and their 10-digit Personal Health Number (PHN) which can be found on their BC Care Card.  All patients will be required to provide and verify information regarding the appointment they are travelling to, including the name of their referring physician, the name of the referral physician, the date of their appointment, the time of the appointment, and the location of the appointment (i.e. hospital or physician’s office).   Residents traveling for medical reasons can bring a companion on the trip at the medical rate if space is available. A companion can provide support while a patient is traveling, and help them get to their appointment.  Passengers who do not meet the requirements for the medical fare will be charged the regular fare.

SENIORS AND CHILDREN

Seniors 65+ eligible for one-way fare deduction of $2 available on all travel except Medical Fares between Queen Charlotte, Skidegate and ferry terminal. 

An adult must accompany children under the age of 16.  Children under age 12 eligible for one-way fare deduction of $2.  Reduction is available on all travel except Medical Fares between Queen Charlotte, Skidegate and ferry terminal.  No fare charge for children under age 2. 

FARE SURCHARGES

Payment by valid Eagle Transit credit account is subject to minimum $15 charge regardless of actual fare.  Additional stops for same customer/party: $5 per stop.  GST included in all fares.  All fares reflect one-way travel only for one passenger.  Payment by credit card add $1 per passenger, minimum credit card payment is $15.  All fares subject to change without notice.

Luggage in excess of three pieces per passenger or having a combined weight of more than 50 kilograms may be subject to additional fees ($5 per item).  Surf boards, bicycles, and like objects subject to additional charge of $10 each and transported when space is available.   No charge for strollers or car seats.  Perishable goods such as boxes containing frozen fish subject to $5 surcharge per item.  Pets may travel in approved kennel only and are subject to extra charge of $5.  Passengers travelling with pets, excess luggage or large items are advised to reserve in advance and items are transported space provided.  

LIMITS OF LIABILITY

In the event of loss or damage to baggage and/or other passenger goods, Eagle Transit will not be liable for more than fifty dollars ($50) on any fare unless at the time of delivery of such baggage and/or goods to Eagle Transit the passenger will declare a greater value.  In any event, no liability will ever exceed one and hundred fifty dollars ($150).
