    June 27, 2010

All off Island guests are invited to join us at 7 AM for a beach adventure. We will travel by bus (and rental car convoy) to Tow Hill beach where there will be a low tide at 10:10 AM which should allow some to catch Dungeness crabs in the surf and dig razor clams from the sandy beach. Those who wish to actually participate will need a Salt Water Fishing license for the day.

We will have a picnic on the beach for lunch. Beach combing and a climb up Tow Hill along with a visit to the blow hole after lunch are all possible.

At the end of the day we will all return to the Ranch in Tlell for a Salmon and Halibut supper along with sampling some of the spoils caught earlier in the day!

    June 28, 2010

If anyone wishes to go for a morning walk to explore the tidal pools below our front pasture we can assemble at 8:30 AM in the Ranch yard. Low tide is at 10:30 and expect to see all sorts of wonders in the inter-tidal zone. We may even come across an octopus ! If you wish to participate in this walk please make arrangements in advance with Don or Leslie.

If we can be of any assistance just call us at
250-557-4348 or email us at docdon@qcislands.net

Please RSVP us as soon as
you have your reservations confirmed!

We encourage everyone who wishes, to bring their vehicles or campers (and ATVs and fishing boats) over to the Charlottes, and spend some time touring. This is one of the most interesting and unique areas of Canada. The Island Guide link above is a very useful tool to find tours of Gwaii Haanas (the South Moresby National Park Reserve) as well as fishing charters, kayak trips, whale watching tours and more. There are museums, shops, beaches to walk, artisans to visit, ship wrecks to explore and even wild cows to find!

The minimum trip would be leaving Prince Rupert Friday, June 25, at 11:00 AM (check in at 9 AM), arriving at Skidegate approximately 5PM, two days at the field day, then back on the ferry Monday morning, June 28 , check in at 9AM, sailing at 11AM, arrive Prince Rupert at 5 PM.

Please consider spending more time on the Islands by coming over on the Thursday sailing and or leaving on the Tuesday morning ferry.
