How will our Online Silent Auction work?
The cattle will be catalogued and listed on our web site. Initially they will have the opening bid posted on the web site. To bid on any animal just email or phone me your bid. Please include your name, phone number, lot number and bid amount. The first time you bid I will assign you a bidder number. I will respond to every email confirming that you are the highest bidder on that lot or, if someone else has bid the same amount ahead of you or a higher amount, that you are not the highest bidder. I will be using the time recorded on my computer to determine in what order bids are received. Each night at 11PM I will update the web site with the current bid on each lot and it will show the bidders number.
If there are bids on any sale lot on the last day of the auction, Sept 27, 2010, I will ask each bidder involved in that days bidding for a new bid, in turn, until a winning bid has been established. In other words, if you start the last day with the highest bid and someone ups your bid just before closing, we will then open it up between you and the new bidder till one of you has declined to beat the others bid, even if this takes us past the closing deadline.
Terms and Conditions
We will contact all winning bids and arrange payments as soon after the closing date as possible. We accept Visa, MasterCard, bank transfers or cheque. Payment is expected in Canadian dollars before cattle are shipped off the island. Ownership will transfer when payment is received and we advise you to acquire insurance on your purchases.
We will be selling all the cattle FOB Vanderhoof and we will be giving a cash discount of $100 a head for cattle picked up at Tlell. FOB Vanderhoof means we will trailer, at our cost, all the cattle sold, to Vanderhoof where there are several commercial options available for you to move your new purchase to all parts of Canada. Depending on the situation we may also be able to offer delivery at cost to areas beyond Vanderhoof with our own stock trailer. It is our expectation that we will be delivering sale cattle during the first week of October. We will have all animals brand inspected and shipping manifests issued at our expense prior to delivery of your purchases to trucking companies in Vanderhoof and we will make every effort to assist you in arranging delivery.
All cattle are guaranteed to meet the “Terms and Conditions” as mandated by the Canadian Hereford Association on their “Agreement of Sale” as posted on the Hereford.ca web page.
All cattle will be vaccinated with both a seven way and a four way vaccine, and all will be treated with Ivomectin pour-on within the last 30 days before the sale.
All cattle purchased will be transferred to the new owner and a registration paper from the Canadian Hereford Association will be supplied.
