How to Use a Counter on Your Web Page

To add a counter on your Web Page insert a special line of HTML coding where you want the counter image to appear.

The line of code looks like:

<img src="http://counter.qcislands.net/cgi-bin/Count.cgi?df=user.pagename">

Replace "user" with your username and "pagename" with the page filename. Be sure a "dot" separates the two variables with no added spaces.
To put a counter on your opening page ("index.html") the html code looks like this:

<img src="http://counter.qcislands.net/cgi-bin/Count.cgi?df=yourusername.index">

Please note that this code segment must be enclosed within a set of container brackets in your actual html code, i.e., "< >"

You can "cut and paste" the above line of code and insert your username and page filename into your page html code. Note: don't forget to add the container brackets, i.e., "< >".

There are a number of variables you can add to the code line to change the appearance of the counter. For some examples of the counter variables, look here.
